Our new locksmith training facility is taking shape and we are now open for business. It was sad to leave our old premises but we have definitely moved onwards and upwards. More pictures to follow.

The end of an ERA

 

 

Congratulations to Mr Kendrick Whitehead who has completed our locksmith course and is the last person to train at our locksmith training facilities on Stringes Lane, Willenhall.

 

Thanks to the 100's of people who have chosen to train with us over the last few years, you are all welcome to visit us at our new Locksmith Academy which will be opening soon!

Moving to a new premises

The locksmith training school is moving to a new address in the next few weeks. The new premises is bigger, better and rather posh. My locksmith business will still be based in Willenhall, I will post the new address once I've moved in.

Dudley safe pick in under 5 minutes.

 

Dudley Safe Picked Easily

This is a Dudley safe that I picked in under 5 minutes. This Dudley safe has a 7 lever post office lock with a square gate, anti-pick levers. Once I got the lock into anti-pick I was able to compress the lever pack and lift the levers into the true gate. This safe was easy to pick.

Another SAFE job

Stratford Stronghold Safe

Stratford stronghold safe, I nearly gave up on this one! I had to keep modifying my pick in order to get to the levers and the hold talon without interfering with the back lever. It took a long time to pick but it felt great when I finally got the safe open. The lock was adapted to fit the safe so I switched the levers (in case someone has the original key) then I handmade a new key which worked perfectly. One more happy customer, one very happy locksmith.

Sentry 1330 - 3 Wheel Fixed Combination Safe

I really love doing these locksmith jobs. For this safe I used the scope and parked wheels. I got the safe open, decoded the wheels and then reassembled the mechanism. The Sentry 1330 Safe was not hard to open but using the scope does cause neck and back ache, I still wouldn't swap my job though.

SMP Safe job

I opened a SMP Multi stump Safe yesterday. This was a frustrating job to say the least but with a bit of help from the Safe database I opened up the safe and changed the lock within about 2 hours. I got £300 for completing this job, this is one of the many reasons I like doing safes, however it does my back no good!

Locksmith Eviction Jobs

I’ve done some eviction work over the last few months; this is one side of the job that I really don’t enjoy (as I’m sure is the case for other working locksmiths). Fortunately all premises’ I've had to attend have already been vacated so it was just a case of picking old locks and fitting new locks.

Got myself a new scope, it’s a brilliant tool and has paid for itself. The scope is just 4mm in diameter with a screw on portable light. This tool makes life so much easier when it comes to drilling and manipulating the locking mechanisms on high end safes.

I've had a few calls lately from past students who are doing a lot of Auto locksmith jobs. I am pleased to hear this, it goes to show that learning the different picking technique's can be a very rewarding!  Retrieving keys from a locked vehicle can cause damage if you are using through the car methods and if you damage a customer’s car the job could end up costing you money! So for all you locksmiths out there it pays to learn and practice the art of opening vehicle locks.

New year, new locksmith tool

Happy New Year to all the locksmith community, for all those who haven't updated their locksmith manual recently you can go to our forum and get the latest download. I've had a few enquiries about making the wires for the A’jam mortice pick, there is now a video tutorial on the A’jam locksmith forum.

Later in the New Year I will be bringing out the A’jam multi-gauge mortice pick with a special indicator feature. This is a unique tool which will actually let you know what lever you are picking in the lock ideal for beginners and for professionals.
